The CoRE IPD has undertaken our latest initiative, the 2026 Seminar Series. As part of this series, on the first Thursday of each month, CoRE IPD will select a partner to host an online seminar. These seminars will focus on inequality, poverty, and deprivation. This series will run from February to October 2026.
On Thursday, the 5th of February, we kicked off the series with Prof. Gaaitzen de Vries (University of Groningen), who presented “The Informality Productivity Gap.”

On 5 February, the University of Groningen opened the CoRE IPD's 2026 Seminar Series with “The Informality Productivity Gap.” The seminar virtually hosted 23 participants from Ghana, South Africa, Germany, and the Netherlands.
