Assoc Prof Nkechi Owoo
Nkechi S. Owoo (PhD) is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Ghana. Her research focuses on spatial econometrics, health and demographic economics, poverty and inequality, gender economics, as well as climate change and environmental sustainability. She holds a number of local and international Visiting/ Research Fellowship positions. She is a Consultant with the World Bank and in addition to being a Research Fellow with the African Centre of Excellence for Inequality Research (ACEIR), she is also a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Center for Global Development (CGD) in Washington DC; as well as the IZA Institute of Labour Economics, in Bonn, Germany. She currently represents the Africa region on the Governing Board of the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) based in France. She has published in reputable journals such as Population and Development Review, Feminist Economics and Nature Sustainability.
